Redneck iPad

Hey y’all – so I’ve been using this wooden iPad prototype for weeks to test UI design elements. This is how we roll down South folks.

All of the dimensions, cornering etc are as close to the real thing as you can get with a circular saw and a ball point pen. It looks pretty jacked but it has been a huge help in visualizing our app for the real world.

I’m thinking about posting our design process for the app we’re working on – would that be of interest to anybody? :) jen

Oh please yes tell us about your design process. I’ve been laying out some iPad screen designs and have found I needed to rethink a lot of “standards” that we’ve employed on the iPhone. There’s been some discussion of course online, but hearing of yet another person’s successes would be very welcomed and eagerly devoured!

    Hi Jen,

“Wood” love to hear more about your design process. Seems folks are in one of two camps with the iPad – love it or dismissal. Very few neutrals. It’s going to be a great ride, for sure!

    Jen,
I think you should sell these redneck iPads. I could actually help you out with production. I don’t think it’s a copyright violation since it is a parody, but the logo and name might be the issue.
